Versatile Adventure Companion
The Bice Bicycles Ramingo is a custom-made steel full-rigid mountain bike divide frame intended for long-distance riding on all types of terrain. A versatile bicycle and trusty adventure companion that will have you gliding along trails, dirt roads, and cycle routes while ensuring you get speedily to the finish line when you hit the city tarmac.
Created for divide races, the geometry of the frame is designed to be spry without sacrificing comfort, something that becomes very important after spending 16 hours in the saddle. The upright riding position reduces upper body discomfort allowing you to pedal for incredibly long distances (aka ‘til you drop).
When it comes to loading up your bike with bags, racks or panniers the frame is studied to equally distribute weight, helping maintain the same type of handling despite the extra load. This, in turn, makes it easier to carry bigger loads allowing you to be more self-reliant and spend more time away from home (or civilization in general).
Wheels, Forks & Dropouts
Let’s talk tires. The Ramingo mounts 29er tires with a tire clearance up to 2.4” which helps to improve the overall ride experience. Increased comfort and control, 29er wheels provide more traction, greater cornering capabilities, and create an overall feeling of “floating”, authorizing you to charge right over anything and everything without issue. The extra volume and increased contact patch really help on those gnarly rooty or rocky paths.
The frame is built with rocking dropouts which allows for a variation in the geometry of the rear triangle which helps to improve the reactivity of the frame. Rocking dropouts also allow for larger tire clearances and, should you ever be in the unfortunate position of finding yourself with a broken rear derailleur, a quick adjustment will ensure that you can still pedal yourself home.
As it is a custom frame, there is also the option of designing the frame with vertical thru-axle dropouts. Depending on what type of handlebar you plan to mount, the geometry of the frame can also be tweaked in the design phase. The frame can also be adapted for a suspension fork should you prefer it. Each frame is made to your specifications including your biomechanics, intended use, fork and handlebar choice.
If you choose to go the unsuspended route, included in the price of the Ramingo is an Enve Mountain fork with a removable fender and disc brake hose clip. Also included in the price of the frame is a Chris King Inset7 headset.
